Garmin Challenge Fredericia will be a Olympic Distance race in 2017.
1.5 km swim -> 40 km cycling -> 10 km run
The course below will be subject to some changes
Canal swimming at its best. Starting in the end of the canal swimming almost out into the belt before turning and taking a short round before swimming the last part.
A 2x 20 km route starting in the center of Fredericia going north for a loop and then taking the athletes back to Fredericia and giving spectators the option to see the athletes again. Making this the perfect route for a city triathlon.
The run course will take you through Fredericia’s historic town, surrounded by the ramparts that used to protect the city from its enemies, but have now been turned into a city park. Frederica is always a beautiful town to visit, filled with narrow cobble streets and old houses. On this particular day, however, it is so much more. The people of Fredericia will be partying in the streets, as this is the weekend of the town festival with tons of music and entrainment going on everywhere. So, the athletes can expect the kilometers to fly by. Four rounds gives the spectators a chance to see their favorite athletes multiple times.
